Source: Project for showcasing the Punta Bego\u00f1a Galleries[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The restoration and showcasing of the Punta Bego\u00f1a Galleries is an extensive project that seeks to recover one of the most unusual early 20th century constructions anywhere in Europe. The fact that it was privately owned and designed for enjoying the landscape, its unique location on a prime landmark and the fact that it was built using the cutting-edge technology of the time make this heritage site a powerful social, cultural, educational and tourist attraction not just for Getxo but for the rest of Bizkaia and indeed the Basque Country as a whole. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Since the project began, thousands of people have already toured the corridors and admired the views from the galleries as they learned about the details of the complex process of investigation conducted here. Some of them have also taken part in the activities arranged on the site as a way of bringing it back to life and making it more and more our own.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Investigative work is now giving way to actual restoration work: the structure itself is being consolidated, problems are being solved, damage is being repaired and more areas are being opened up to visitors.
